What is a smartphone?
 
We often hear the word "smartphone". What exactly is it a smartphone? What is the distinguishing smartphone from a regular phone? Here, a little review of what the smartphone.
Smartphone (smart phone) is a mobile device that can be used for basic communication (sms and phone), but also included a function PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) and works like a mini computer.
Prior to smartphones is widely known, at first there are two different products, namely mobile phones and personal digital assistants (PDAs). Mobile is mainly used for the call, while the PDA is used as a sort of personal digital assistant or digital organizer. PDAs can store contact info and daily agenda and can be synchronized with a computer. But with the development, the mobile phone has finally PDA features, and vice versa, PDA mobile phone features. This development then encourage the creation of what is now known as smartphones.
Modern smartphones include a high-resolution touch screen and a web browser to display a page (the page) along with standard web sites that support mobile devices. While high-speed data access is provided by Wi-Fi and mobile broadband.
Some of the features of the smartphone:
1. Operating System
In general, the smartphone has an operating system that enables it to run a variety of applications.
Apple's iPhone has iOS operating system, the BlackBerry using the BlackBerry OS. In addition, other operating systems are also known as the Google Android OS, HP WebOS, and Microsoft Windows Phone.
2. Apps
While almost all phones have some kind of software, the smartphone has a better ability again.
Smartphone lets you create and edit Microsoft Office documents - or at least see the files.
Smartphones also have the ability to download a variety of applications such as financial software, personal assistant, and much more.
Smartphones may also be equipped with GPS and photo editing capabilities as well as play music.
3. Web Access
Smartphones can access the Internet at higher speeds, thanks to the growth of 4G and 3G data network, and the addition of Wi-Fi support to many handsets.
4. QWERTY Keyboard
Smartphones are already equipped with a QWERTY keyboard is a keyboard is laid out like the order button on a computer keyboard. The QWERTY keyboard can be physical or virtual (typed via a touch screen).
5. Messaging
All mobile phones can send and receive text messages, but that makes superior smartphone is its ability to handle e-mail. A smartphone can be synchronized with the e-mail account so as to improve labor productivity.
6. Office
Excess other is the application of data processing office. Every smartphone has this kind of ability that can be obtained by installing office applications. Such applications can be installed individually or default from the factory.
